Turn the fee into a dollar repayment.
See the cash, fee and single repayment
Example: $300 cash + $30 service fee + $5 verification fee = $335 due after 14 days; annualized fee comparison 304.17%.
Florida single-payment educational example. The wheel changes only the example cash amount; the exact field lets you enter any value up to the statutory $500 limit. Fee caps are not an offer. Annualized comparison = total fees ÷ cash received × 365 ÷ days × 100. Compare any real offer with the provider’s required disclosures.
When a single repayment deserves a closer look
A payday-style advance usually addresses a near-term cash shortage with a short repayment period. The repayment may arrive at the same time as rent, food, utilities or existing debt payments. Treat those obligations as part of the decision, not as problems to solve after approval.
Write down the income payment you expect to use and subtract essentials already due before the next reliable income date. Compare the remainder with the full repayment. If it is smaller, a short repayment window is a poor fit even if a provider would consider the request.
For several scheduled payments, compare the installment schedule instead. Do not relabel an unaffordable single payment as affordable just because another product is available.
Three examples make the fee easier to see.
| Cash received | 10% service fee | Verification fee used | Single repayment |
|---|---|---|---|
| $100 | $10 | $5 | $115 |
| $300 | $30 | $5 | $335 |
| $500 | $50 | $5 | $555 |
These examples assume the full displayed cash is received and all displayed fees are paid at the end. They are not Catapult rates or provider quotes. A lender’s itemized disclosure may have different permitted charges, dates or a lower fee; use the actual agreement for the decision.
A $35 fee on $300 is a smaller dollar figure than $55 on $500, but neither says how much room remains in your next budget. Pair the example with the same-period budget check.
Florida guardrails that matter before a payday request.
| Rule | What it means for a Florida deferred-presentment request |
|---|---|
| One outstanding transaction | A provider must check the state database and cannot enter a new deferred-presentment transaction while another one is outstanding. |
| 24-hour waiting period | A new deferred-presentment transaction cannot start until at least 24 hours after the previous one ends. |
| No rollover | A provider cannot roll over, renew, extend or consolidate the agreement using proceeds of another deferred-presentment transaction. |
| Truth-in-Lending disclosure | The provider must give the applicable Regulation Z disclosure when the transaction is initiated. |
| Payment difficulty | Single-payment transactions have a statutory 60-day grace path if the borrower follows the required notice/counseling steps; installment transactions have a one-payment deferral path with timely notice. |
| What may be reviewed | Why it can matter | What not to assume |
|---|---|---|
| Identity and contact details | The agreement/database process requires identifying information. | Passing identity checks is not approval. |
| Income or recurring deposits | A provider may use them to evaluate the ability to meet a short due date. | There is no universal minimum income published by this site. |
| Bank/account information | May be relevant to payment and verification for the actual provider. | A bank account does not guarantee eligibility. |
| State database status | For Florida deferred-presentment transactions, the provider must check outstanding/previous transaction status. | This is not the same thing as a traditional credit-bureau inquiry. |
What a provider may review before a Florida payday transaction.
| Factor | Why it can matter | What is fixed vs variable |
|---|---|---|
| Identity and Florida contact details | The written agreement and state-database process use identifying information. | The statutory/database requirements are fixed; acceptable verification documents vary. |
| Regular income or recurring deposits | The entire single-payment balance is due on one date, so providers commonly evaluate the source and timing of repayment. | No universal minimum income is published by this site; provider thresholds vary. |
| Active checking account / payment rail | A Florida deferred-presentment transaction uses a check or permitted electronic payment authorization. | Account-age or bank-history criteria vary by provider. |
| No outstanding Florida payday loan | A provider must query the state database and cannot enter a new deferred-presentment transaction while another qualifying transaction is outstanding. | This is a statutory eligibility restriction, not a provider preference. |
| 24-hour waiting period | A new deferred-presentment transaction cannot begin until the statutory waiting period after the prior transaction ends. | This is a statutory rule for the cited Florida product. |
From request to cash: the agreement is the dividing line.
A request describes what you are looking for. A application may send that request to a provider. The provider then decides whether it will offer credit and on what terms. You should receive the agreement and applicable disclosures before accepting the obligation.
Save the provider’s legal name, contact details, finance charge, repayment amount and due date. Confirm the payment method separately. An online decision is not evidence that funds have reached your bank. See the funding checkpoints if timing is critical.
Act before the due date if you cannot repay.
For Florida’s non-installment deferred-presentment structure, the law provides a 60-day, no-additional-charge grace period when the specified notice and counseling conditions are met. Notify the provider in writing or in person by the end of the deferment period; make the counseling appointment within seven days and complete counseling during the grace period. Keep proof and notify the provider of your compliance.
This is not permission to ignore the payment or a promise to extend every kind of loan. The installment structure has a different protection. Compare the two routes or use support and complaint routing.
Payday repayment questions
Can the calculator approve me?
No. It does arithmetic on the values you enter. It does not check a provider’s availability, your eligibility, your credit or any state database.
Why does a short loan have a large annualized comparison rate?
Annualization expresses the short-period fee on a yearly scale. It does not mean the fee in the example is charged every year on this single agreement. Dollar cost, term and repayment burden still matter alongside the required lender APR disclosure.
Should I request the maximum amount?
Not simply because a maximum exists. Calculate the expense gap, remove confirmed assistance or reductions, and check the repayment. A larger balance generally means more money to repay.
Does the Florida $500 limit apply to all personal loans?
No. It refers to the non-installment deferred-presentment category discussed here. A different loan product needs its own legal and provider analysis.
Ready for the next step?
Review the repayment and provider disclosures, then continue to the application when you are ready.
